This part of my semester-off-adventure is a 2 week road trip with Lindsey and Stefano through Oregon and Washington. We started in Eugene, then Portland, and now we're in Cannon Beach (which is beautiful).
Mt. Shasta
Our last stop (sorry, the first few of these are a bit mixed) was to this lovely place, where Stefano won $40 on penny machines.
Our first stop was to Castle Crags, which we later dubbed Scraggle Rock...which resulted in many many 'scraggle' jokes.

We met up with Stacey (one of my NY Fam friends) and stayed the night at her place.
Stacey (an amazing tour guide) took us to this place, where Obama had ice cream when he was in Eugene (this is for you, Varsi)

The next day we drove up to Stacey's family's home in Salem where her mom had an amazing breakfast ready for us. Her mom is amazing.

We left Salem and headed up to Portland. We didn't have any plans for the day till we were going to be able to check in at 3, and we somehow ended up at the Portland Zoo, which is amazing.

This was our first night out in Portland...at our hotel. Portland is amazing for having happy hours in restaurants for food and drinks. $3 for dinner...soooooo amazing!

Ground Kontrol is an amazing place that's like an old school arcade with real pinball machines and everything....but for adults. SO much fun! And, in true classy fashion, they charge old school prices and use quarters, not tokens.

Lindsey hit her mirror on a pole in the parking garage of the hotel...it didn't cause this damage to the pole, or hurt her mirror much, but the sentiment is the same. (PS. amazing sticky notes from Urban Outfitters)

Doughnuts from Voodoo Doughnuts. They are really funny and have amazing names, but they don't taste much better than any corner place.
Lindsey's friend, Danny, owns a salon with his wife in Portland. He cut our hair and made us look amazing. If you're ever in Portland go to Danny or Summer for a cut at Logik. It's on S.E. Division.

'reading' with my new glasses...not prescription, don't freak out.
The doors at the hotel are chalkboards. Some song...was it Elton John? Maybe. Anyway, he sings about sugar bear and "didn'cha dear" and "butterfly wings" sooo...it evolved.

Stefano was Scraggle Stache till he got it trimmed up, now he's Scissor Stache...and wrote it on all of the doors in our hall.

And the public bathroom. Don't worry, it's meant to be drawn on. It's chalk on chalkboard. The Jackalope is for Stefano's new tattoo, dubbed 'Jack Ching Badda Bing'...funniest home videos reference, I guess.

This is why people need to watch how much wood/paper products they are using and recycle whenever possible...this clearcutting is heartbreakig. It looks like battlefields and death.

On a lighter note, when we got in to Cannon Beach we wandered upon the Ecola State Park. Absolutely beautiful. There were great views of the Goonie's beach (where The Goonies was filmed)

There was a sign for another beach there, so we went. Indian Beach. It ended up being the beach where Twilight is filmed....supposedly La Push, but it's really here. In Oregon. Stefano and I did a recreation of a scene...it's at the end.

The most amazingly beautiful Bald Eagle flew along the beach and landed in the tree. If you click the picture below to make it bigger and look around you should be able to see it sitting on a branch that's making a V shape from the tree.

Our cabin for the night. Cannon beach is a reasonable place to stay. Lindsey arranged all of the places to stay (bless her) and found this place. We were going to stay in Astoria, but it's WAY expensive.

I should get an MTV movie award for this.
Goonies lovers unite.
Tomorrow we're off to La Push then Forks (yeah, yeah) in Washington, then to Whidbey Island, then to Seattle, then home. I'm sure we'll have many more amazing pictures that I'll share soon.
