When I left my sister's place I flew into Seattle to visit with my aunt Robin, who lives on Whidbey Island. My flight from Chicago went well (thank god) but it was another long day of traveling...waiting, flying, waiting, waiting, traveling, etc.
Here's Mt. Rainier from the air
When I got to Robin's she had the most amazing mom-dinner that I ate without breathing, then crashed hard and slept well. The next day I woke up early (naturally, with the time change) and did random things, including making a rhubarb crumble (that ended up being delicious).
When Robin got home from work we hooked up her trailer for the next morning's road trip to her brother's, Uncle Jeff, in Oregon because his son, James, was graduating. When we hooked up the trailer we realized that it was nearly impossible to see it in any of the mirrors because it's so small. We were trying to figure out a way to hook a reflector to it, or a place to get one of those flag things when Robin had the genius idea of using a garden gnome to hold the reflector. It didn't end up how we originally planned it, but it turned out rather well. His name ended up being Gnorman. Gnorman the gnome.
The next morning we woke up early so we could be on the 6:00 ferry off of the island and began our trip to Eastern Oregon.
The entire graduating class of...uhm...can't remember the name of the town. Anyway, all 13 of 14 of them.

On our second (last) night there Camille took me way up into the hills where James and some of his friends were having a bonfire. It was so big and so hot that it was damned near impossible to even get close enough to roast marshmallows.
When we got back that night I had enough time to shower and pack before I passed out.
Back in Cali!
