Better late than never-ish

I figure I owe it to myself, at least, to properly close out the pictures from my lovely months of traveling.

I've been back home since June 12. Since then, I've moved back to this city that I like alright-ish. I took summer classes and started teaching 2nd grade as an intern while in the credential program. The past two terms have been crazy, and the next one will be even worse. By May it's quite possible that I will have gone insane. The next 5 and a half months will be a stark contrast from the first 6 months of 2009. But, unlike June 2009, June 2010 will bring with it the end of an era...the era of necessary classes. I'll have my credential and will, hopefully, be preparing for my first year teaching. After that, I'll only go back to school if I want to, not because I need to to be able to have the career I want.

Anyway, I miss last year. I miss New York, London, Chicago, and the entirety of the Pacific NW. I miss my beautiful friends who live so far away. I miss waking up to Roshni talking in her sleep, and playing cribbage and drinking with Chantal till we can't keep our eyes open. I miss dancing on a busted ankle (which seems to have finally healed). I miss Jenn and Lana and walking around NYC till we find a bar to stumble into (which may or may not have salsa dancers). I miss Conor and waking up to him dancing around to ABBA. I miss Robin and her craziness that helped mold me. I miss simply being in a car with Lindsey and Stefano, just being together in amazing places. I miss Stacey and her crazy faces. I miss my lovely sister, her crazy teenage son, and her amazing man. And I love them all for making my life better.

Until next time...because you know I'll blog about it. I always do. :)

  1. I'm so glad your ankle has healed darling.

I was thinking about that too. My sister had to move the other night cos I was apparently snoring. I wonder which is better to be woken up to? Sleep-talking or dodgy sinuses?

I have to say I occasionally get a pang, like a sharp reflex to get out the cribbage board. But, alas, I barely remember how to play it, and I can't think of anyone I'd like to spend enough time with to go through the painstaking process of teaching it. With that in mind, I admire you intensely for having had the patience to teach my slooooow ass how to do it right!

I love and miss you. You should come and become The Cool American Primary School Teacher here.
