Leaving from the station.

DAMN YOU, DUFFYYYY!!!!

Being on the train....

Tower of London.
Beef eater.

Tour gave good info. The guide was nice.

Traitor's Gate

I snuck this picture for you. Mom and Varsi. And whoever else is interested. (don't mind my terrible grammar skills...it's nearly 1am) Oh, right, explanation. This is where Anne Boleyn is buried. Right over there where the wooden thing is. There are a few others up there buried without their heads. One has his head...James something. Duke of somewhere. Member of the royal family in the end. Brain's not working.

Apparently they take such good care of their (HUGE) ravens that one lived for 44 years. Crazy.

From the White Tower stairs.

Also snuck this one. King Henry the eighth (yes, I had to write it out)...his armor. There's an amazing exhibit on at the moment with all of his armor. Anyone in town should go check it out.

The black door is the Queen's Quarters (I believe. Wow, this may be embarrassing later, my lack of late night knowledge). The blue doors are quarters for beef eaters and their families. This is opposite where private beheadings (like that of Anne Boleyn) took place.

behind a tree over there where people are standing and you can see a bit of a blue glass thing...that's the memorial for the beheaded.

This gift shop (where I bought some people some stuff) used to be a torture chamber. Now it's a gift shop.

HUGE RAVEN! You can't really tell by this picture, but I promise you that it's huge.

Where private beheadings took place.

gate

Those holes are two of three murder holes where people in the castle would drop random liquids onto invaders.

I wonder how they decide, and who decides, what gets to be protected and what can be weathered away.

you know...if there's a day with me and Rosh it's going to include a flower shot or two.

Tower Hill. I posted a blog with pictures from here before. There was a plaque that marked the site of executions. I promise that I posted it. You can look if you like. Anyway, same area.

I wonder where how this bit of shoe ended up in the cement.

It's not just for SF....

Rosh and I went to meet up with Nat, a girl from Australia who I traveled with in Ireland...she was on the 3-day tour. Rosh joined us for dinner, then Nat and I went to see 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past' which was very funny.

On my way back to Wembley that night I got lost on the overground. I can manage the tube just fine...it's the overground that's confusing. It was supposedly going to save me a ton of time, but it didn't in the end...since I got on the wrong overground train and had to retrack. Good times.
